About the HHQI Campaign

We are excited to announce that a new and enhanced Home Health Quality Improvement (HHQI) National Campaign will launch in early 2010. As the contractor for the first HHQI Campaign, WVMI & Quality Insights is proud to work again with this initiative of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve home health quality.

Our campaign goals include improving the rate associated with acute care hospitalizations (reducing avoidable hospitalizations) and management of oral medications for home health patients. Although the campaign will be lead by the home health community, we will form partnerships with other provider groups such as hospitals and physicians’ offices. At the focal point of our educational efforts will be the quarterly release of new multimedia Best Practice Intervention Packages (BPIPs) designed to educate home health agencies. These free resources will be available to all participants that join our movement starting in January 2010.

Following the campaign launch, our participants and supporters will also enjoy free access to online sharing tools designed to facilitate the free flow of information among stakeholders. These channels will be designed to unite providers across settings under the shared vision of reducing avoidable hospitalizations and improving medication management.

To set improvement targets and view rates related to the publicly reported acute care hospitalization and oral medication measures, we will provide agencies with a free target setting tool through the reactivation of the Home Health STAR (Setting Targets Achieving Results) Web site.

Please check this site often for updates on the campaign, and how you can join the movement to evolve health care through quality improvement. Welcome to the new Home Health Quality Improvement National Campaign. We look forward to working with you.
